CareCloud Earns ONC Health IT Certification from Drummond Group LLC
MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CareCloud, the platform for high-growth medical groups, has achieved the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) 2015 Edition Health IT Module Certification for the company’s electronic health record software, CareCloud Charts. The company earned this designation after a rigorous review conducted by the ONC’s Authorized Certification Body, Drummond Group LLC. At a time when medical groups are aligning their technology and processes to new value-based care reimbursement models, this certification affirms that CareCloud Charts has the functionality they need to meet to the regulatory requirements for clinical health information exchange that drive quality outcomes.
“Having this certification is foundational to ensuring our medical group clients not only stay current with complex and changing regulations, but to also making sure they qualify for as many quality incentives as possible,” said Josh Siegel, CareCloud’s chief technology officer. “This level of assurance means going beyond checking off the regulatory boxes to providing analytics and tools that drive higher productivity and growth.”
To earn the certification, CareCloud Charts was tested to be in accordance with applicable standards and certification criteria put forth by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The 2015 Edition Health IT Module Certification criteria, specifically, builds on past rulemakings to facilitate greater interoperability for several clinical health information purposes and enables health information exchange through new and enhanced certification criteria, standards, and implementation specifications. The company completed a comprehensive review and attestation process for 45 modules related to technological capability, functionality and security requirements.
In 2018, CareCloud announced that one-hundred percent of the clinicians submitting data through the company’s MIPS Success Guarantee Program will avoid penalties and are eligible for bonuses based on preliminary performance feedback provided by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Additionally, 45% of the providers that submitted data through the CareCloud program earned scores placing them above the exceptional bonus threshold and thus eligible for additional positive payment adjustments in 2019.
